8/5/20 - Dorothy Baker, Patrick Kelkar, and Senior Advisor Wendy Schmidt open Quinlan's New York City office
Additions expand capabilities in complex international dispute support; due diligence, fraud, and anti-corruption; asset tracing; and internal investigations
I’m excited to announce that Quinlan Partners, LLC, has opened a New York office led by two veterans of intelligence and investigations, Dorothy Baker and Patrick Kelkar. They join Wendy Schmidt, a friend and mentor who has officially joined us as a senior advisor, in growing our complex domestic and international litigation and arbitration support; due diligence, fraud, and anti-corruption investigation; asset tracing; and internal investigation practices.
Dorothy (firstname.lastname@example.org), who leads the office as a managing director, previously spent seven years in the headquarters of a global investigation firm, where she rose to managing director. Dorothy leads complex investigations for litigators as well as pre-transactional due diligence for investors. She has assisted counsel in a wide range of high-profile disputes and asset-recovery matters, and has conducted investigations and diligence on companies and individuals around the world.
Patrick (email@example.com), whom Chambers and Partners ranked this year among the top U.S. business intelligence and investigations professionals, joins Quinlan as a partner and director of international investigations. He has more than 20 years of experience conducting investigations in more than 100 countries, specializing in complex transnational fraud and corruption. Previously, Patrick was a partner heading anti-corruption and internal investigations for a global investigative firm, and prior to that, conducted international investigations on behalf of the World Bank Group and the Independent Inquiry Committee (“Volcker Committee”) into the United Nations Oil-for-Food Programme in Iraq.
Wendy (firstname.lastname@example.org) is the former global leader of the Business Intelligence Services practice of a Big Four consulting firm. A former litigator, she has more than 25 years’ experience specializing in the development of background information and intelligence for commercial and government clients in the context of due diligence, fraud, government investigations, and litigation support. She has also worked with clients to develop third-party risk management and vetting programs.
Baker and Kelkar are Quinlan's second and third senior-level hires, respectively, this year. The first, Christopher Jaros (email@example.com), joined at the start of the year and is a former partner at the global law firm K&L Gates. Chris represented companies and individuals in civil and criminal investigations and litigation, primarily involving complex federal regulatory programs and, more recently, a high-profile transnational criminal investigation.
We welcome them aboard and look forward to assisting you in the months and years ahead.
