What we collect

- Financial Information. Bank and financial account information, credit and debit card numbers and other financial information necessary to receive or make payment for Services purchased.
- Employment / Job Applicant Information. If you apply for a position with us, we may collect your contact information as well as certain information about you, including race, ethnicity, previous employment and education history, references, information relating to disabilities, physical or mental health information, sexual orientation, trade union membership, immigration/naturalization records, information relating to your criminal record and background check, interview notes, test scores and correspondence between us. If you accept a position with us, we may collect some of the information listed above as well as other information necessary to manage your employment relationship and benefits, including your Social Security number or tax file number and bank account information.
You can always refuse to provide your personal information, but please note that some personal information is necessary to provide our Services, to engage you as a supplier or vendor, and to employ you at Quinlan.
The Services we provide to our clients include collecting information on individuals, companies, organizations and other entities (“Subjects”). Much of this information is collected from our clients, the subjects, public sources (such as public records or registers, social media sites, and the internet), and other third-party sources (including industry and country experts or individuals and entities who are familiar with the Subjects). We may collect such information in person, by telephone or electronically. The information we may collect may include:
- Family and given names and job titles
- Contact and location information, including any home addresses, email addresses, associated business/corporate entities and addresses, business telephone numbers
- Regulatory and licensing checks
- Employment, education and compensation history
- Performance, training, experience, activities, responsibilities, skills, and qualifications
- Compliance with employer, institutional or industry standards and policies
- Ethics, integrity and other personal characteristics and modes of living
- Global risk compliance(watch list) information
- Past and present corporate affiliations
- Criminal records
- Credit reports and related information
- Driving records
- Social security numbers and dates of birth
- Academic institution verification
How we collect it
We need to collect personal information from you in order to provide you with our Services, as well as to improve your experience. You may provide us with personal information in several ways, including, for example when you:

- Correspond with us in any way;
- Ask for customer service, support or other assistance; or
- Interact with us in any other way, online or offline, including through our Services.
Cookies. Like many websites and apps, we may use “cookies”, which are small text files that are stored on your computer or equipment when you visit certain online pages that record your preferences and actions, including how you use the website. We may use this information for analytics purposes which allows us to improve your browsing experience. The information we may collect through these technologies will also be used to manage your session. Social Media Integration. Our Services may, from time to time, contain links to and from social media platforms. You may choose to connect to us through a social media platform, such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, and when you do, we may collect additional information from you, including the information listed in the Types of Information We Collect section above. Please be advised that social media platforms may also collect information from you. When you click on a social plug-in, such as LinkedIn’s “Like” button or Twitter’s “Tweet” button, that particular social network’s plugin will be activated and your browser will directly connect to that provider’s servers. We encourage you to review the social media platforms’ usage and disclosure policies and practices, including the data security practices, before using them.
How we use it
We may use personal information to do any or all of the following:
- provide you with our Services;
- facilitate your interactions and transactions with us;

If you are an employee, we may process and use your personal information for legitimate business purposes related to performing the employment contract with you.
Quinlan may collect personal information on behalf of its clients as a service provider. We collect such information to perform the services requested by clients and individuals pursuant to a letter of engagement, statement of work, or similar arrangement. Our role as an investigator means that in certain jurisdictions subject to Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the Processing of Personal Data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation) (the "GDPR"), we may be considered to act as a separate and independent data controller with responsibilities under applicable data protection laws. Where required by applicable law, we will work with the client and/or counsel to establish the legitimate and legal bases for the collection of personal data in the course of an engagement and will work to ensure that the data is processed and provided to counsel and the client in a compliant and secure manner. We are neither responsible nor liable to ensure the proper handling and use of the data by counsel or the client.
We may use personal information to create non-personal information. We may use non-personal information for any legitimate business purpose.
Disclosure
Except as set forth here, we will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
As disclosed in this Notice, we do not share personal information with any companies other than our business partners, suppliers, vendors, service providers, and contractors, including our and their directors, officers, employees, agents, consultants, advisors or other representatives in order to operate our business in a legal and compliant manner.
Our business partners, suppliers, vendors, service providers, and contractors include IT service providers, financial institutions and payment providers, customer relationship management vendors, other cloud-based solutions providers, lawyers, accountants, auditors and other professional advisors. We contract with them to ensure that they appropriately process personal information under our instructions and ensure the security and confidentiality of personal information.
We share personal information with these third parties to help us:
- with the uses described in the How We Use It section above;
- with our marketing and promotional projects, such as sending you information about products and services you may like and other promotions (provided you have not unsubscribed from receiving such marketing and promotional information from us); and
- in the operation, management, improvement of our Services;

We may share personal information with law enforcement and regulatory authorities or other third parties as required or permitted by law for the purpose of:

We have processes to store personal information that we have collected in secure operating environments. Email Communications / Direct Marketing: You may have the opportunity to receive certain communications from us related to our Services. If you provide us with your email address in order to receive communications, you can opt-out of marketing emails at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of our emails and adjusting your email preferences. Please note that certain emails may be necessary for the operation of our Services. You will continue to receive these necessary emails, if lawful and appropriate, even if you unsubscribe from our optional marketing communications.
